My name is Ryan Davis
My interest in hypnosis began in a very natural way. I first started learning and practising hypnosis with friends and family, and over time that interest grew into something much deeper. What began as curiosity slowly became a passion for understanding the mind, relaxation, focus, and the way people can begin to change when they feel safe enough to do so.
For many years, my life followed a familiar path. I worked with the same company for 23 years, and like many people, I knew what it meant to have routine, responsibility, and a sense of security in what I was doing.
When my employment situation changed, it could easily have become a time of dread, uncertainty and worry. Instead, I chose to see it as a turning point. I decided to build on the hypnosis skills I had already developed and look more seriously into hypnotherapy.
In many ways, it was a complete 180 from the life I had known before. After more than two decades in the same working environment, I was stepping into something new. I was choosing change, rather than simply waiting for it to happen to me.
That experience is part of what shaped NERO Hypnotherapy. I understand that change can feel daunting, even when it is wanted. It can bring uncertainty, self-doubt, pressure, and the question of whether you are really ready to do something different.
But I also believe change can be steady, supported, and meaningful.
NERO is built around Nurture, Evolution, Relaxation, and Optimisation. For me, those words reflect the kind of space I want to offer: a calm, friendly and professional place where you can feel listened to, supported, and able to move forward at a pace that feels right for you.
Through Solution Focused Hypnotherapy, I work with people who may be dealing with anxiety, stress, low confidence, sleep issues, habits, phobias, smoking, low motivation, or simply feeling as though life has become harder than it needs to be.
The focus is not on judging you or keeping you stuck in the problem. It is about understanding where you are now, where you would like to be, and what can help you begin moving in that direction.

About Solution Focused Hypnotherapy
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy is a calm, practical approach that combines talking therapy with hypnosis. It is designed to help you look at where you are now, where you would like to be, and what can help you start moving in that direction.
It is not about spending every session going over the problem again and again. That does not mean your difficulties are ignored, or that they do not matter. It simply means the focus is placed more on helping you understand what is happening, what you want to change, and what small steps may help life begin to feel more manageable.
The approach has its roots in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, which was developed by Steve de Shazer, Insoo Kim Berg and their colleagues at the Brief Family Therapy Center in Milwaukee. Their work looked at how people create change by noticing strengths, resources, exceptions, and times when the problem is less present.
Solution Focused Hypnotherapy later brought those ideas together with hypnosis. David Newton is widely credited as one of the main figures in developing and pioneering Solution Focused Hypnotherapy in the UK. The result is an approach that is forward-looking, structured, and built around helping people move towards positive change.
A session usually involves two parts. The first part is a conversation, where we talk about what has been going well, what you would like to improve, and what may help you take the next step. The second part is hypnosis, or trance, which is a gentle and relaxed state. You remain aware, you remain in control, and you are not made to do anything you do not want to do.
Many people describe hypnosis as feeling peaceful, almost like drifting. It gives the mind and body a chance to settle, which can be especially helpful when stress, anxiety, poor sleep, low confidence or old habits have started to take over.
